Hello Team,
With 775 suggested translations awaiting approval and 463,618 strings awaiting translation, we are doing pretty horribly. We are all to blame.

In essence, we have 0 (zero) translations.
I'm writing this in English as we may need administrative help on the way forward.
Suuch, I've sent you mail on help with admin and pushing this translation project forward. It seems the project started out with a bang then fizzled out to a dead standstill.

Guys, lets start out again on Drupal 7 and make up for lost time else Drupal 8 will catch us still stuck out here.

I suggest we all meet up (those that are still active) and strategise.
If Suuch you are too busy, please let us know and appoint a few people to help out as admin so we can get the approvals moving.

How do we transfer admin powers of the team to you? It appears it is not possible to do it from the dashboard. Do you know a site admin of localize.drupal.org we can contact to make this transfer possible?

Hello Suuch,
With your response I will go ahead and see how to do this. I doubt it can be a transfer. More of addition as Team lead.

In essence:
"click the member list link in the swahili group block ("27 members" on the right), pick the "Configure roles" tab and configure roles for each user.
Please give all perms for I and whomever else you deem for now.
