ံwhich unicode do we use for translating?

Hi, welcome to Drupal Burmese translation team.

I started with Zawgyi, but I'm thinking to use 100 % Unicode fonts (Myanmar3, Padauk etc).
I'm waiting for Drupal 7, stable version. (It is stable to translate right now.)

Currently, I just finished WaitZar user guide, translation. So I can start Drupal 7 translation on 2011.

Hi,

Appreciate your effort.
Any updates on this?

Thanks for your kind comment.
The translation process is on going now.

Currently we have a few active, volunteer translators and we are using Unicode fonts.
There is also a localization server, http://d7mm.mmshare.org
You can check the latest status at http://localize.drupal.org/translate/languages/my

Any suggestions and contributions are welcome. Thanks.

My office assigned me to help our Burmese editors to publish some content on website.
I actually don't understand the language.

Currently our editor is using BoNormal font (if that's the correct name), or also known as WinFont.
It's not Unicode, and we can't mix it with non-Burmese characters (eq: English) on the website.

So, we are considering Zawgyi since it's very popular.
But reading from internet, it seems that it's not 100% Unicode compliant.
And our editors are not familiar yet with Unicode font, eq: Padauk or Myanmar3.

Appreciate any advise you can give.
Thank you.

Hi Yudi,

There is an Input system called WaitZar (http://code.google.com/p/waitzar/).

This software accept old, non Unicode keyboard input methods, like Win fonts or Zawgyi, to produce standard Unicode fonts. The documentation is bilingual (Eng and Burmese), so that you and your editor can read and discuss together.

The WaitZar system will help you in using current, already familiar keyboard input methods, (Win or Zawgyi or whatever) to get standard Unicode fonts (Padauk, Myanmar3, Yunghkio etc).

For more Myanmar Unicode resources, please go to (http://www.myanmarlanguage.org/) for more input methods, and font downloads. It is also a Drupal site and I'm helping, maintaining as a webmaster.

Hope these help your problems.

http://d7mm.mmshare.org/ is hard to open in local now.
and myanmar3 input method is not familiar with me.
So recommend a font input method(Keyboard layout)

Hi bro,

Please use WaitZar keyboard input system. (http://code.google.com/p/waitzar/)
So that you still can use Zawgyi keyboard to get Unicode fonts output.

Yes, mmshare.org is banned in Myanmar even though we are publishing Technical & Dhamma related articles. :)

u can use any unicode-support system.
