در اینجا ما نکات و قواعدی را مطرح کرده و به بحث می‌نشینیم که بایستی هرکسی در ترجمه رشته‌ها در پیش بگیرد. با چنین رویه‌ای می‌توان اطمینان حاصل کرد که اکثر ترجمه‌های ما روان‌ و یکدست شده و به بهترین شکل ممکن به مخزن ترجمه فارسی دروپال افزوده می‌شوند. هدف ما این است دروپال چنانچه که در خور آن است به فارسی برگردانده شود تا هرچه بیشتر و بهتر در درسترس فارسی زبانان قرار بگیرد.

این یک صفحه ویکی است، پس در ویرایش و بهبود محتوای آن تردیدی نکنید.

ما یک سرویس طراحی سایت داریم که باهاش خودتون می‌تونید سایت بسازید. هم میشه سایت ساخت هم فروشگاه اینترنتی.

قواعد:

  • اگر در ترجمه جمله‌ یا عبارت خاصی مطمئن نیستید، آن را به حال خود رها کنید. یافتن و اصلاح ترجمه‌ای ضعیف یا غلط کاری سخت و زمان بر است. پس همیشه نخست به سراغ ترجمه عباراتی بروید که آسان بوده و از ترجمه صحیح آنان اطمینان دارید. در مورد موارد مشکل ساز نیز می‌توانید با دیگر مترجمان بحث و تبادل نظر کنید.
  • از برگرداندن کلمات و عبارات تخصصی انگلیسی که در زبان فارسی جا افتاده و معادلی ندارند بپرهیزید چراکه باعث سردرگمی کاربران خصوصا مدیران سایت می‌شود. برای مثال ترجمه RSS به آر اس اس
  • رشته‌ها ممکن است دارای متغیرهایی مانند "%date", باشند. در ترجمه چنین رشته‌هایی دقت بیشتری به خرج داده و همیشه نتیجه را بررسی کنید. چراکه متغیرها نقشی اساسی در نمایش اطلاعات حساس دارند و اگر به شکلی غلط مانند user% درج شده یا کلا از قلم بیفتند برای کاربران بسیار دردسرساز می‌شوند.
  • در صورت داشتن مجوز مدیریت هیچگاه ترجمه‌هایی را که خود انجام داده‌اید تایید نکنید. بگذارید دیگر مدیران ترجمه شما را بازنگری کرده و در صورت موافقت آن را تایید کنند. بدین شکل کیفیت ترجمه‌ها بالا می‌رود.
  • بایستی سعی کنیم تا جایی که امکان دارد از کلمات فارسی استفاده کنیم. به سایت فرهنگستان زبان فارسی رجوع کنید.
  • از ترجمه نام ماژول‌هایی که اسم آنها معنی خاصی نداره خودداری کنید مانند imce
    .
  • در برخی مکان‌ها که از place holders استفاده شده است، نتیجه کار در صفحات راست‌چین شده (RTL page) خوب نمایش داده نمی‌شود. برای غلبه بر این مشکل، برخی کاراکترهای مخفی در مکان مناسبی از متن وارد کنید مانند (Right-to-Left Override, Left-to-Right Override, Right-to-Left embeding, Left-to-Right embeding, Pop directional characters, ...) تا نتیجه مطلوب‌تری در رشته نهایی حاصل شود.
    لینوکس: از منو کلیک‌راست در فیلدهای متن استفاده می‌کند. ویندوز: از منو کلیک‌راست در فیلدهای متن استفاده می‌کند. notepad برای مثال دارای منو کلیک‌راست است.
  • از نیم فاصله استفاده کنید. برای مثال به جای «می باشد» بنویسید «می‌باشد» یا به جای «ماژول ها» بنویسید «ماژول‌ها». اینکار به خوانش بهتر و زیبایی متن کمک می‌کند. همچنین کلمات مرکب را سرهم و با کمک نیم فاصله بنویسید برای مثال: «به‌روز‌رسانی» یا «پیش‌فرض».
    برای اینکار در صفحه کلیدهای استاندارد و همچنین در لینوکس، کلید Shift-Space را زده یا از Shift-B و یا Shift+Space+b استفاده کنید.
  • در صفحه کلید مایکروسافت: Ctrl+shift+2
  • در تمامی صفحه کلیدهای مایکروسافت: Alt+0157 (with NumLock)
  • از ٍ ُ ِ َ ّ استفاده نکنید مگر اینکه واقعا ضروری باشد.
  • حروف «ك» و «ي» عربی هستند، به جای آنها «ک» و «ی» فارسی را بکار ببرید.
  • از علامت « و » به جای نقل قول " استفاده کنید. برای درج « کلید Shift-L را بکار برده و برای » کلید Shift-K

بیشتر به معانی جملات توجه کنید تا تک تک معانی کلمات رساندن مفهوم مهم تر از رساندن معمی کلمات هست

کلمات انگلیسی وارد شده به فارسی را ترجیحا کمتر استفاده کنید مخصوصا اونهایی که معادل خوبی دارند مانند لیست که کلا فارسی نیست اما متداول شده.
کلمات عربی وارد شده به فارسی باز مانوس تر هستند اما در هر صورت حتما نوجه داشته باشید جمله نوشته شده از نظر دستور زبان فارسی غلط نباشد.

I'm agree with مورد but the problem is this word is a very generic word in Persian. doesn't it confuse people?

PS : While i was approving translations, i noticed that there are more than one set of translations. The first translations are very good but the last ones are really useless (many duplications and non related or totally wrong translations), how many sets did you import? and did u import(merge) the one i attach to discussion few days ago?

While i was reviewing translations i noticed that the problem is because of "Multiple contributors". i decided to decline incorrect translations made by this import using http://localize.drupal.org/translate/languages/fa/edit

I need my translation as suggestion so you can review them.

I wasn't able to import that fa.po file, but I can import them separately like general.po , I did import them as suggestion because some of them not translated by me, so It's better to have them as suggestion maybe some of them are useful.

Start reviewing Sina, approve good translations and just leave others. ( If the translation is awful just delete it :D )
Sina, this list of words are really useful, it keeps the translation together. add more general words you think may see everywhere.

PS: I'm very busy with my MSc stuff :( sorry for coming here a little late,I didn't look at that fa.po file completely is it a good translation? If yes we have to import it 'as suggestion' and then approve them or make some changes (according to our words list)

Hi,

Some ideas:

1st, I think it's better to discuss in Persian instead of English. Since this is Persian translation area, I don't think other people will find these discussions helpful!

2nd, my opinion about the above words:
- Theme: چهره
- Term: واژه
- View: نما
- Verify: بررسی
- Profile: شرح حال

3rd, some words like 'View' mean different things in different areas. I think that these keys should be some how chaged so we would be able to provide different translations. I have some problems with specially this word, "View" which was used in different places, and there is one important module named also Views.

4th, in some places where place holders are used, the result will be seen badly in an RTL page. So to overcome these problems, I suggest to insert some hidden characters like (Right-to-Left Override, Left-to-Right Override, Right-to-Left embeding, Left-to-Right embeding, Pop directional characters, ...) in appropriate places to create better result in final strings. In Linux, I can insert them easily using the context menu in the text fields. I think context menus in Windows have that feature too.

5th, Please start using ZWNJ character in required places. For example, instead of entering «می باشد» enter «می‌باشد». The short-cut for entering that character in Linux is Shift-Space or Shift-B and in Windows, you can use Ctrl-Shift-2.

6th, Start placing some rules for word forms. For example, it is better to write «عکس‌ها» instead of «عکسها» or «عکس ها». Also some rules for writing composite words are required, for example, «چهره بخش سرپرستی» or «چهرهء بخش سرپرستی» or «چهره ی بخش سرپرستی». I like the first form, but I think that the third form is now being thought to children in primary schools.

7th, should we enter characters like ً ٍ ُ ِ َ ّ or not. I don't like inserting them, except ِ for places that makes sense.

8th, please don't use Arabic Yeh «ي», and Kaf «ك». Instead use Farsi Yeh «ی», and Keh «ک».

9th, I suggest that forcing everyone who wants to help translate to using ISIRI keyboard layout.

Not quite agree with you, translators should be able to read and write in English easily otherwise they can't provide any useful translation. so i believe writing in English here is a good filter.

2nd, I'm against چهره because if we use چهره for Theme what should we use for Face. Also پوسته i think is more know.

It's also better to keep modules' name in English, people should be able to find module folder , it's project folder on drupal.org or simply search their problem in search engine.

I like پوسته too. But I think واژه is a good translation. There is no one to one mapping between English and Persian. So if we had "Word" somewhere, we may use واژه for that too. واژه is pure Persian but عبارت and اصطلاح are not.

Let's make a rule and ban the word «می‌باشد». I heard somewhere that this is a totally wrong word we use in Persian. We can simply use «است» instead of that word. You can change the sample for ZWNJ to «می‌شود» too.

Let's use « and » instead of double quotes and single quotes. In my keyboard, I use Shift-L for opening character « and Shift-K for closing character ».

I found two references:

I recommend reading these two blog articles. They are both interesting.

One word we may ban is «نمایید». In the above links, it is suggested that we use «کنید» instead of «نمایید».
Another is «می‌شود» instead of «می‌گردد».
Another word we may encounter is «مورد» which should not be used unless it is absolutely necessary.

These are not requirements but it is better that we apply these best practices! If we could find someone on the internet that has a good knowledge of Persian, we could ask for some help, like choosing a good word for some most used words like Block, Menu, Profile, Item, ...

Also, I forgot two say that we should also pay attention to punctuations. Let's make some rules for them too.

Some of the rules I can think of are:
- Putting the period, comma, semicolon, colon, ... symbols just after the last character of the word.
- Adding a space character just after the above symbols if you want to continue your phrase.
- You can use Persian digits where you want to show them as part of the text like using ۱۰۰ instead of 100.
- Replacing usage of English comma "," with «،», ";" with «؛», "?" with «؟», "%" with «٪», Thousand Separator with Arabic Thousand Separator (Shift-2 in my keyboard layout), Decimal Separator with Arabic Decimal Separator (Shift-3 in my keyboard layout).

This list is not complete. Help improve it. If we make a good guide for translation, we may make it a reference for other projects too.

P.S: Thousand separator and decimal separator may not look good in your font, but they are the correct Unicode symbols, and Persian fonts can make them look good. There is no need to concern about the user installed fonts as recent improvements to browsers like Firefox 3.6 and Safari are going to solve that issue.

Let's use «سرآغاز» for "Home".

I think it's a good replacement, it is a Persian word and it has the meaning for the home page. «صفحه اصلی» is 2 words both of which are Arabic, and «خانه» really doesn't have any meaning here except that we are accustomed to it.

Also let's ban the word «لسیت» and use «فهرست» in every replacements for now. We may later choose better words in some replacements.

We may translate "Link" as «پیوند» instead of «لینک» or «اتصال» or ...

We should find some good words for important words like "Save", "Cancel", "OK", ...
Words like «لغو», «انصراف», «ذخیره», «تغییر», «قبول», «رد», are not beautiful and I think we can find better replacements.
For example, to translate "Save" we can use some derived words of «پایداری» or «نگهداری».

I know it's a hard task to find good replacements, but we can do this and then other projects can use these guidelines and translations too. This will make future of software development in Persian better and more beautiful. If you agree with me, you may update this wiki page. As this list grows, we should find a better way to handle it.

According to wikipedia i think گردآورنده is more appropriate than the others.
I added aggregator to the words list.

Blog : وب نوشت is already a popular translation so it's a good choice.

Open Source requires the culture of sharing, cooperation, respect for intellectual property, and rights of others. This seems contradictory with the Iranian culture. But why don't we just use the translations of drupalcms.ir site? They represent themselves as the Iranian Drupal. Can someone just download their translated version and include the translation module in Drupal?

هادی عزیز من با شما در مورد استاندارد موافقم ولی هر چه گشتم چیزی در این مورد روی سایت پیدا نکردم. اگر ترجمه و استفاده منحصر به یک دید است پس بفرماید ما وقت خود را تلف نکنیم. برای من که سی و چند سال است از ایران به دور بوده ترجمه درست در مورد کامپیوتر لغاتی است که مورد استفاده آن رایج باشد. خوبی استاندارد این است که انواع مختلفی از ان وجود دارد. فکر میکنم منظور شما از استاندارد، سلیقه باشد. کار ترجمه پایان ندارد، به مرور زمان درستش میکنیم. از تجربه دوستان در ایران استفاده کنید.

secondly, their translation is not good. we are following some rules and trying to have consistency in our translation. it was simply too much work to import their translation and then correct it.

we have 99% translated core. and anyone is welcomed to join us given they respect our community rules

آيا ترجمه ما بايد توسط يك مدير خاص تاييد شود ؟ چه كسي؟

برای عضویت در تیم ترجمه محدودیتی وجود ندارد لینک عضویت باید جایی در همین صفحه باشه البته دقیقا یادم نیست کجا!
و ترجمه ها توسط افرادی که دسترسی مدیریت دارند بررسی و تایید می شود.
