Thanks to Nightwish, Heshan.lk and Chathurank, we have translated core to some progress and I hope everyone will help us.

Please use, add, or modify tradition we need to translate Drupal to Sinhala with the ability to understand the concept with hosting environments.
There is an old Sinhala(Drupal 5 core) translation in 2007 and in that PO file, you will find some funny translations such as Sinhala word for "Feeds". So I think that would be better to keep a tradition of translations to make this translation usable.

Drupal

"Drupal" is the project name and a registered trademark, so it must be consistent on the translation. If you have a phrase that contain @drupal text, please use the "@drupal" part as-is and use it in proper place to give correct meaning

Modules and themes

  • Libraries: Depends on the the project. If the project mention about physical libraries, use Sinhala word and if the project mention a code library, use the Library word as-is.
  • Theme: Depends on the phrase. "Theme" can be used as a verb or noun so decide whether use verb or noun in Sinhala language
